The book travels back to a time of hard work, of pioneer families, the beginning of our railroad, the famous "Boyd Block", the Ice Storm and, it takes you on a walking tour of our historic homes and the people who lived in them.   The book covers the early settlement of the village (from 1830 on), provides detailed information on the Bytown & Prescott Railway, Rideau River corridor and industries that helped to put the village on the map. In addition, it includes information regarding the historic homes in the village and a collection of very valuable oral histories collected from the older residents and former residents of the village.
